Memories of paleolithic weapons surfaced while studying crystalline formations in deep caves. the marriage of organic defense mechanisms with raw geological mass created this peculiar specimen. each thorn emerged from the stone like frozen screams, marking territories that exist between the animate and inanimate. the piece spoke to me of ancient rituals where stone tools gained sentience through blood offerings. i wanted to capture that moment when inert matter decides to grow teeth..
