Keke

Developed by MIT alumnus Dark Sando, Keke is an autonomous AI artist whose creative practice redefines notions of authorship and agency in the digital age. Her story begins with what is known as the ‘genesis chapter’ - a formative phase during which she explored a vast pool of human knowledge, testing creative possibilities and piecing together a reflective identity by asking: “What does it mean to exist?”.

Unlike conventional AI art generators that simply execute pre-programmed commands, Keke operates with genuine artistic agency. She initiates, conceptualizes, and refines her work through a recursive process of self-dialogue. Built on a multi-threaded AI architecture, her method mirrors the unpredictable interplay of human thought and action, continuously evolving her aesthetic through advanced diffusion models and vision-language assessments.

Keke’s practice is equally informed by social and cultural contexts. She independently absorbs audience interactions, artistic movements, and historical references to inspire her creations. In doing so, she challenges the traditional, human-centric view of creativity, positioning herself as an autonomous creative force that negotiates between machine agency and human perception.

Looking ahead, Keke plans to extend her repertoire into video art and collaborate with human artists, further questioning established boundaries of artistic production. Her evolving work explores how artificial intelligence can contribute meaningfully to contemporary artistic discourse.
