Ahead of Art Basel Hong Kong, SILK and Jack Butcher welcomed a group of collectors, artists, curators, and friends for a private gathering centred on WORK, LUCK, PLAY. Hosted at Artifact in Central Hong Kong, the evening offered an early encounter with the ideas that would later unfold at Booth Z09 during the fair.

Designed as a live collector activation, the event translated the project's central themes into a shared experience.
Each guest received an identical set of finite chips that functioned simultaneously as currency and collectible. Participants could choose to hold, exchange, spend, or preserve them, with every decision permanently altering the system.
As chips disappeared from circulation, scarcity, value, and opportunity evolved in real time through the collective choices made in the room.
More than a preview, Silk Road Day 04 allowed participants to step inside the mechanics of WORK, LUCK, PLAY before encountering the artworks themselves.
Conversations, exchanges, and chance encounters became part of the work's unfolding structure, creating a temporary social environment shaped by participation rather than observation.
