Noper, also known as bagdelete, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work blends technology with human emotion, crafting hallucinatory and nostalgic visuals that explore the complexity of contemporary life. Using AI and other digital tools, he weaves together elements of chaos and childhood wonder, inviting viewers to experience his interpretation of the world.
Raised in Florida, noper began drawing obsessively at a young age, developing intricate pen-and-ink compositions. During his teenage years, he transitioned from drawing to painting, which expanded his sense of scale and material possibility. From that moment, visual art became not only a pastime but a serious commitment and later he formalized this trajectory through a BA in Studio Art at Florida State University.
The introduction of AI tools marked a big shift in noper’s working method: platforms such as Stable Diffusion and MidJourney offered him a way to reapproach long-standing concerns like realism, memory, dreams, and emotional intensity – without the physical constraints of materials like paint, the surface, or the scale. Where his earlier painted works tended toward illustration, AI allowed him to approach a heightened, uncanny realism that remains visibly constructed.
The resulting imagery (often GIFs or videos) often feel suspended between plausibility and distortion, evoking the dream logic rather than documentary space.
Noper’s process is deliberate and it can take a long time for him to get the ‘right’ scene. Each work begins with a concept that is translated into a highly specific textual prompt, defining elements such as lighting, texture, perspective, and temporal mood. Initial outputs are then treated as raw material. Through successive rounds – sometimes numbering in the hundreds – he refines language, eliminates undesirable visual artifacts, and gradually steers the system toward a result that aligns with his intention. Then comes the post-processing in software such as Photoshop, to create final artworks that combine emotional states, time, (neon) colors, and subjective memories.
His art often intersects with his passion for music, leading to collaborations with major artists such as Future and Metro Boomin. Notably, noper created visuals for No Doubt's Coachella performance and RAYE’s ‘Genesis’ music video.
